Directions from Manchester Piccadilly Station

Walking

It is about a 10-minute walk. Leave Piccadilly via the main entrance and walk down the station approach and continue in the same direction towards Piccadilly Gardens. Turn towards your left and cross over the junction onto Portland Street. Continue down Portland Street past the Portland Hotel, crossing Aytoun Street. Trams are street running here, so please be aware of their presence when crossing Aytoun Street. Continue down Portland Street until the first set of pedestrian crossing lights. Turn towards your right and cross over Portland Street onto New York Street. No 5 is the red brick square building with a short flight of steps, approximately 100 yards from Portland Street, on the left hand side of the road.

Metrolink Tram

The Metrolink Tram station is sign posted in the station. Tickets can be purchased from the machines on the platform. You can get on any tram as they all stop at Piccadilly Gardens. On alighting from the tram, you will see the Bus Interchange to your left. Cross the road, and walk through the glass entrance to City Tower to the far side. 5 New York Street is directly opposite where you will exit from City Tower. Just cross the road and enter the red brick and cream building.

Taxi

The taxi rank at Piccadilly station is signposted.

From Victoria Station

The best way to get to the office from Victoria Station is to get a Metrolink tram. You can get on any tram travelling to Altrincham, Eccles or Piccadilly as they all stop in either Piccadilly Gardens or Mosley Street. On alighting, continue as above.

From Oxford Road Station

The easiest route is to transfer to Piccadilly by train, then follow directions as above from Piccadilly Station.

Otherwise it is about a 15 minute walk. Turn left on exiting from the station, walking up Oxford Street (sic). Cross over Oxford Street and turn right into Portland Street. Turn left into New York Street. No 5 is about 100 yards on the left.

Using the Metrolink Trams

Our location is very close to two Metrolink stops - Piccadilly Gardens and Mosley Street. See above for directions to get into 5 New York Street from either station. Please note - if you are approaching from Altrincham or Eccles you will need to alight in Piccadilly Gardens and follow above directions.

Using the Free Metroshuttle bus

Metroshuttle links all of the city centre railway stations, the main NCP car parks, and many bus and Metrolink tram stops. You can use this FREE CITY CENTRE BUS to get around hopping on and off as often as you wish. The three services run at 5-10 minute frequencies. Use Service No 1 from Piccadilly station to stop at Charlotte Street/Portland Street - the nearest stop to New York Street.

Driving

There are a number of car parks near to New York Street, the closest of which is the NCP car park opposite 5 New York Street. There are also a number of parking meters alongside the building on George Street. Please note that New York street is one way and cannot be entered from Portland Street.

On Arrival at 5 New York Street

Should you need it, the disabled access is on the left hand corner of the front of the building – please announce your presence to the security staff by using the bell and they will assist your access into the building. Otherwise come up the steps into the entrance foyer and inform the security personnel at the desk that you are visiting the RPTS NRAP. You will be asked to proceed to the first floor, either by the stairs or the lift. Please ring the doorbell to the left of the RPTS door.
